What’s for dinner?

While a lot of America is obsessed with getting dinner on the table in 30 minutes or less, CurlNation is a Rachel Ray-free zone.  It’s not that I don’t dig a quick meal.  I mean, I LOVE ramen and that only takes 5 minutes.  We just have the luxury of spending a lot of time thinking about, planning, and preparing food, and we eat what sounds good and feel like eating, regardless of how long it might take to make.  It also means that sometimes we are eating dinner at the same moment as people several timezones away, but no matter.

Sparklepants decided on a spur-of-the-moment to make gnocchi for an ordinary midweek dinner.  And that would be homemade, made-from-scratch-by-hands-gifted-by-the-gods gnocchi.

See those hands? They make divine food and other cool things.  Sparklepants boiled potatoes, mashed them, made it into a soft dough and then formed the gnocchi by cutting off sections from long strands.

The result?  Light as a cloud, and incredibly delicious simply tossed with butter and a sprinkling of Parmesan.

Oh, right, there’s no picture of the final dish because I was too busy shoving those tasty little clouds into my gnocchi-hole.
